Study: The Signature Experience
Barnsley Resort · Adairsville, Georgia
Collected: November 2026
What do you want more of in your life?
Five nights at Barnsley Resort that begin before you arrive and end ninety days later. Choose what you came for — we'll show you the science, and the way there.
Seven paths in — each with the science behind it.
(001) What is the Santerra experience?
Lasting transformation
For too long, we were told that health was a habit, or a superfood, or the next supplement, diet, or prescription we simply had to have. But rewind the clock a few thousand years, and the health of the body, the mind, and the spirit were never separate segments of a life — they were one interconnected whole.
The Santerra experience is built around lasting transformation. It starts with your intention — what you’re really looking for — and then we measure your health comprehensively. Months later, when we remeasure and we’ve walked with you through the change, it won’t just be how you feel. You’ll have the data to back up why you feel the way you do.
(002) The Method
A science to transformation
Most programs run only the middle phase — the week itself. We run all three, because change that lasts is prepared for, lived, then protected.
[PHASE 1]
Preparation
Your experience starts at booking — a research-grade flourishing assessment, your wearable's real baseline, and one honest intention set before you arrive. Ground prepared on purpose.
[PHASE 2]
Immersion
Five nights out of your cue environment: the table, the trails, the fire, a cohort of twenty-four, forgiveness and purpose work, and rest you haven't had in years.
[PHASE 3]
Reinforcement
Ninety days of follow-through — monthly coaching, weekly practices, your community — and then we measure again, so the change shows up as data.
(003) The Seven Pillars
Seven ways to tend a life
Health was never one thing. A flourishing life is fed in seven ways — the same seven your baseline assessment measures before you arrive, and the same seven we tend, hour by hour, across the week. It’s how a change you can feel becomes a change you can see.
Rhythm
Light & darkMorning light on the trails, early dinners, a nightly wind-down, and a full day of rest — the body's clock, reset.
Nourishment
What you take inGarden-led meals from the wellness menu, a zero-proof table, and a cooking class to carry home. Food as medicine, never restriction.
Movement
The body in motionSunrise hikes, gentle yoga and breathwork, and unhurried miles of trail — movement that restores rather than depletes.
Resilience
Hot & coldThe sauna-and-cold-plunge circuit, and the tools to meet stress without being run by it. The body learns it is safe to stand down.
Clarity
Silence & solitudeGuided stillness, journaling, and solo silent time in nature — the looping worry that steals your sleep, quieted.
Connection
BelongingOne long table, a cohort of twenty-four, and a partner who becomes your ninety-day accountability. You don't do this alone.
Renewal
Nature & spiritForgiveness work, the fire at sundown, and long hours in the gardens — the spirit tended, the burdens set down.
(004) The Experience
Six days, one arc
Tuesday through Sunday, the week bends from arrival to sending. Open any day to see how it unfolds — hour by unhurried hour.
Arrive by late afternoon and let the pace change. Your room has been prepared for rest, not stimulation. Before dinner we gather for a gentle welcome — introductions, the shape of the week, and one quiet question: what did you actually come here for? Over the first dinner at one long table, you name a single honest intention. Nothing else is asked of you tonight but to arrive.

(005) The Place
Three thousand acres of quiet
Barnsley Resort is a historic estate in the North Georgia foothills — gardens planted a hundred and seventy years ago, woodland to walk for days, and a spa among the most awarded in the South. An hour from Atlanta, and a world away from your inbox.

- The historic gardens
- Formal Southern gardens first planted in the 1840s — boxwood parterres, heirloom roses, and the ivy-covered manor ruins at their heart.
- Miles of woodland trails
- Quiet paths through Georgia pines and hardwoods, made for the unhurried morning walks the week is built around.
- A ten-acre lake
- Still water for canoeing, fishing, or doing nothing at all — the center of the day of joy.
- A top-ranked spa
- One of the South's most awarded resort spas, where your two treatments become part of the deep-work day.
- Garden-to-table kitchens
- Wellness menus cooked from the resort's own gardens — plant-forward, and better than you expect.
- An hour from Atlanta
- Close enough to reach easily, far enough that the inbox finally goes quiet. Three thousand private acres.

(006) Your Hosts
Two people, one long table
Santerra was founded by Jared and Annette Thurmon — and they host it themselves: every session, every meal, and every one of the ninety days that follow. Twenty-four guests, and the two people who built the week sitting at the table with you.
